A little luxury at Vale do Garrão in-between Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo

Vale do Garrão is a luxury development, and along with Dunas Douradas, is located in between the well known resorts of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago. It is a relatively small and set in well-maintained gardens, surrounded by pine trees. It is a short walk to both the Garrão and Ancão beaches, and as it’s only a 20-minute drive from Faro airport, it’s a doddle to get to.

Accommodation

If you’re looking for accommodation in Vale do Garrão, you’ll find a selection of privately owned villas and townhouses to rent. There is also a development of 22 two and three bedroom villas, some with a pool, owned and run by the Ria Park Hotel, which is a few minutes walk away. If you stay in one of these villas, you will be able to use some of the hotel’s facilities. This includes the shuttle bus to the beach, swimming pools and children’s club. For a charge there are also tennis courts, a spa, a Turkish bath and a Jacuzzi.

There are also a number of Vale do Garrão hotels. These are the Ria Park Hotel and Spa, a 5-star hotel and its sister hotel a short distance away, the 4-star Ria Park Gardens hotel. There is also the 4-star Formosa Park Aparthotel which has 61 apartments. Vale do Garrão facilities

Facilities include a large communal swimming pool, children's pool and a couple of tennis courts surrounded by well-maintained gardens. Of course because of its location you will have all the facilities of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago at your disposal. These include some of the best golf courses the Algarve has to offer, and a tennis academy in each resort. Vale do Garrão restaurants

A few minutes away in Dunas Douradas is Xenia restaurant. It is a quality restaurant serving an International menu and is open evenings for dinner if you fancy some fine dining.

Down on Vale do Garrão beach, there are a couple of great beach restaurants. First is Izzys, situated on the cliff with great views of the sea. It serves mainly fish and seafood (although there are meat dishes). It is family friendly, with an area for children to play and a kids menu. There is live music Sunday lunchtime.

Also on the beach is the famous Julias Restaurant and Beach Bar. This is very popular all year round, so making a reservation is sensible. The menu is meat, fish and seafood with an African influence. It is well cooked and very good value for money.
