Vale da Pinta golf course

Vale da Pinta Golf Course and its adjacent sister course Quinta do Gramacho are the two course which form the Pestana golf resort. Located in the central Algarve, near Carvoiero, it’s about 60km from Faro.

The course is well designed and interesting to play. A buggy might be a good idea as it is quite an undulating course and there are some walks between tees. The fairways run though the almond, olive and carob trees and there are some lovely views to be had. The greens are generally in great condition, fast and true with plenty of slopes to test your putting.

Vale da Pinta is an 18-hole par-71 championship course and is well over 7000 yards off the back tees. Don’t let this worry you if your name is not Tiger woods, as there are different sets of tees for different standards of golfers.

To demonstrate its pedigree, it has already been used as a qualifying course for the European Seniors Tour and is to be used for a European Ladies Tour event stating 28th June 2007.

Vale da Pinta Golf Course Facilities

Pro-shop, Driving Range, Chipping Green, Bunker Area, Pro-Shop, David Leadbetter Golf Academy, Restaurant & Bar Current Handicap Certificate Required, 28 for men and 36 for ladies. Normal Algarve dress code is required, being tailored shorts and collared polo shirts.

Directions to Vale da Pinta Golf Course

The Pestana Golf Resort, Vale da Pinta Course, is near Lagoa, 4 km from the village of Carvoeiro, and about a 30-minute drive from Faro Airport. From the airport, take the Via do Infante motorway to Lagoa. At the junction for Carvoeiro follow signs to Sesmarias. Pestana is signed from Lagoa.
