The village of Santa Barbara de Nexe is about seven kilometres north of Faro and is surrounded by fields and hills covered in fruit trees. This is a rural Algarve area with beautiful views of the coast and surrounding countryside. If its peace and quiet you want you’ll be fine here. Having said that, it is only 15 minutes drive away from Faro and is within easy reach of he coastal resorts with their beaches and traditional holiday facilities and lively nightlife. Santa Barbara itself has a number of good restaurants, cafes and bars for a more relaxed holiday.
