Quinta de Cima Golf Course

Quinta de Cima Golf Course opened shortly after its sister course Quinta da Ria. Bounded on one side by the N125 road and by the Quinta da Ria course on other, it is a longer and more challenging course altogether. Off the back tees it is nearly 6800 yards and is set on rolling land, so not too hilly if you want to walk around, rather than hiring a buggy.
The course itself is fairly open, but well designed, with strategically positioned bunkers, lakes and streams to catch you out. There a plenty of old olive and almond trees scattered about, adding interest to the layout. It is not an overly pretty course, but the views of the mountains and the sea make up for that.
It is best suited to more experienced golfers, who will probably get the most out of it. At a standard rate of 90, neither course is cheap to play, but represents perhaps better value than some of the more toursity golf courses in the Central Algarve. Definitely worth a try on your Algarve holiday
There have been promises of no real estate construction on both of the Quinta de Cima and Quinta da Ria courses, which is welcome. How long this lasts however well we shall see. As per Quinta da Ria, you will need a handicap certificate and a handicap no higher than 28 for men, and 36 for ladies.
The standard Quinta de Cima Golf Green Fee (2006/7) is 90.
Facilities: Club House, Snack bar, Pro-Shop, Putting-green, Driving-range (300 x 100 m), Golf Academy, Hire of Buggies, and trolleys.
