This 51 room Infante Pousada is located in the village of Sagres in the Western Algarve. It is classified a ‘Nature’ Pousada, because of its location. It is about 120 km from Faro and 35 km from Lagos. The Hotel Pousada de Sagres has a fantastic position, situated on the top of cliffs overlooking the beach below and the Atlantic Ocean. In one direction in the distance you can see Sagres Fortress and in the other, Cabo St. Vincent (the most south-westerly point in mainland Europe). There is not a lot do in these parts, but if you like relaxing, exploring and enjoy stunning views of the dramatic and rugged scenery, then it’s a fine choice. Whatever you like to do, be prepared o do it in the wind, as it never seems to stop around here. What does the Infante Pousada Sagres have to offer? Inside the Infante Pousada, with its wood panelling, there’s somewhat of a nautical theme, although the rooms are decorated in a more modern style. The rooms are very comfortable, well equipped and generally spacious. There is also a pleasant bar with comfortable sofas and a zebra-skin rug, which seems somewhat out of place. Outside on the patio area, where you get fantastic views of the sunset over Cabo St. Vincente, while during the day you can enjoy the lovely gardens or relax on a sun lounger around the large swimming pool. As with all Portuguese Pousadas, there is a restaurant here, which serves local and international cuisine. There is some excellent fish and seafood that comes fresh from the fishin village of Sagres. In the mornings a good selection of breakfasts is provided, served buffet style. Staying here is not cheap if you pay the rack rate but there are promotions to watch out for, if you can take advantage of them and other deals to be had.
