If you’re staying in Lagos in the Algarve, then you are pretty well positioned for a number of golf courses to play in the area. The majority of the courses are to the west of Lagos, although there are a couple to the east, as can be seen on the Lagos golf course map above.

What you would consider to be Lagos golf courses are Boavista golf course, which is just a few kilometres away to the south west in between Lagos and Praia da Luz, and even closer, to the north west, just above the Meia Praia beach is Palmares Golf Club. Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resort is a shortish drive to the west and the Penina Golf Resort is just north of Alvor. Alto Golf Club is near Alvor on the way to Portimao.

If you have car then there are other courses in the central Algarve on the way to Faro, which are easily accessible too.

If you want to play golf in Lagos, there are a number of options open to you. You can arrange tee-times directly with the golf courses themselves. Do this however, and you will pay the standard green fee, which is the most expensive option. Better to arrange tee-times through one of the many golf booking agencies you’ll find with a quick search on the Internet. They offer discounted rates at most Algarve golf courses.

If you are staying in Lagos, then some of the hotels offer deals including golf. One of these is the Lagos Marina Club, which often have promotions. Deals can also be had at the Tivoli Hotel Lagos, who can offer minimum of 20% discounts on local courses with certain accommodation packages.

For the more serious golfer, wanting to play a few rounds of golf here, it may be better to book a golf package through one of the specialist golf tour operators.
