Carvoeiro Tennis Club

Carvoeiro Tennis Club is one of the larger tennis facilities in the Algarve. It is based on one of Carvoeiro’s holiday resort complexes, the Carvoeiro Clube resort. However you don’t have to stay on the resort to use the facilities.

They have 12 courts and practice facilities and run a tennis academy if you have come to the Algarve to improve your tennis. Most of the courts are all-weather courts, but there are a couple of clay courts and even one artificial grass court.

If you just want a social game of tennis, then courts can be hired by the hour and equipment rented from reception. They’ll even try and find you an opponent of a similar standard if you have no-one to play with. The tennis courts are open from 9am to 9pm daily.

If you are more serious about improving your tennis, then you could sign up with the tennis school. Carvoeiro Tennis Club is home to the Performance Tennis School, run by Graeme Hulme and his merry band of coaches. Tuition can be provided individually or in groups and in several different languages. Lessons are available for children and adults of all standards, and children are particularly well catered for during the school holiday periods, with clinics and tournaments being arranged.

There are other facilities within the Carvoeiro Tennis Club apart from tennis. They have a swimming pool (shaped like a tennis racket, just in case you forget where you are), which is free to tennis club visitors.

There is also a fully equipped gym with up-to-date equipment and a fitness instructor on hand if required. It also contains two saunas.

In the Aerobics Studio there are classes on all sorts of activities, from dance and yoga to aerobics and step classes. In fact all the things you’ll want to do when you return from your Algarve holiday. Perhaps a more relaxing activity is to have something to eat or drink on the terrace in the restaurant and bar.

The fitness centre is open daily, but closed on Sundays (it is a day of rest after all!)

To keep the kids entertained, you’ll find a children’s playground, a couple of trampolines, table tennis and a crazy golf course.
