Many of them are to be found on the various complexes and resorts dotted around. The advantage of these is that all facilities for your Algarve holiday are available on site. The disadvantage is that some of them are a distance from the town making a car a necessity.The other thing to consider about Carvoeiro, is that the town itself is nestled in between the cliffs, meaning that a lot of accommodation is to be found at the top of some fairly steep hills. Something to bear in mind if you are not as fit as you once were. The apartments, townhouses and villas have been designed in a Moorish style, giving the resort a bit of charm. Being close to the town, it is a pleasant walk, but is uphill on the way back. Penthouse Paraiso – 1 bedroom penthouse Apartment from Villarenters. Carvoeiro Apartments - Carvoeiro Clube resortCarvoeiro Clube is an upmarket Algarve holiday resort. Accommodation is mostly villas, but there are some one and two bedroom apartments available to rent. All the apartments are privately owned, and most share the use of swimming pools. All facilities are on-site including restaurants, bars and shops.
Carvoeiro Clube is a little over a kilometre north-west of Carvoiero. It lies on a peaceful cliff-top with many properties having superb views of the sea. From the resort it is a pleasant stroll downhill to the beaches of Praia do Paraiso and Praia do Carvoeiro, which are about 20 minutes away. On the way back however, it is a steep climb up the hill from Carvoeiro main square.
The Carvoeiro Clube de Tenis and fitness centre is located on the resort. There is also a large range of other activities to occupy all ages and interests. This makes it an ideal place for couples, groups and families. There’s a Children's Club at the nearby Paraiso Country Club if you want some time to yourselves or perhaps a game of golf at the nearby Gramacho or Vale da Pinta golf courses. Rounds can be booked at reception and discounts are available to guests.

Carvoeiro Apartments - Monte Dourado resortOverlooking the main beach at Carvoeiro, Monte Dourado occupies a great location. It has the advantage of being within easy walking distance of town and the beach. The disadvantage is that the resort is on a hill, making it a steep walk back. This is the same with many of the complexes in the area.
Apartments grouped together in fairly small clusters, most having their own swimming pool and children’s pool. There are five swimming pool areas and two tennis courts on site. The resort has 109 self-catering apartments, which are reported as spacious, clean and well equipped. Staff at the resort have a good reputation of being helpful and friendly.

Carvoeiro Apartments - Quinta do Paraiso resortQuinta do Pariso resort is just over a kilometre to the west of Carvoeiro situated in well maintained landscaped gardens. As with most of the resorts in Carvoeiro it is situated on top of a hill. So while the town and the beaches are easily reached on foot it can be a steep climb up the road from the centre to get back to your accommodation. A car would be useful, although the resort offers a shuttle bus service, several times a day, to Carvoeiro town centre.
The complex has a couple of restaurants, tennis courts, children's playground, several swimming pools so is ideal for families and couples. The’ Animation team’, as they are called, are on hand to keep your children amused and occupied during the day. Carvoeiro Apartments – Colina SolThe Colina Sol Aparthotel is about 2 km east of Carvoeiro. It is a fairly basic hotel, and certainly not the prettiest to look at, but it does represent fairly good value for money. The hotel is carved into the cliff above the beautiful Centianes beach , and many of the room have magnificent views. It is a hilly 20 minute walk from the centre of Carvoeiro, so car hire would be advisable, although taxis are fairly cheap.
Facilities include an outdoor pool, which is a little on the small side and a tennis court and restaurant. There are a couple of restaurants, bars and a small supermarket, a 5-minute walk away. To read real traveller reviews, then click

Carvoeiro Apartments – Colina VillageColina village apartment complex is a little way out of Carvoeiro town, being about 3 km away. You can walk to town but it is a bit hilly. A car is advisable, especially if you want to explore. If you don’t want to walk then the resort lays on a shuttle service to town a few times during the day, but this stops very early evening. Taxis are cheap though, although you may have to queue at the rank on the way back.
A good place for families on holiday, with the apartments being spacious and reported as well appointed in general. There are not a huge amount of facilities on site, but there are a couple of pools and tennis courts. There is a mini-mart on site, but this is really only for essentials. There’s more choice and cheaper prices at the Intermarche on the road to Lagoa.
The major gripe amongst guests is the lack of air-conditioning in the apartments. Apparently this is being addressed, but worth checking before you book.

Carvoeiro Apartments – Palm Gardens resortPalm Gardens is a relatively quiet and peaceful resort 1.5 km east of Carvoeiro. From its cliff-top location it has great views overlooking the Atlantic. The resort consists apartments which are part timeshare and part privately owned.
Facilities include a large heated pool and children's pool and an all-weather tennis court. There is also a restaurant and pool bar. Discounts at the Gramacho and Vale da Pinta golf courses can be booked through reception.

Carvoeiro Apartments – Rocha Brava3.5 km east of Carvoeiro, Rocha Brava is a family-friendly holiday complex with three swimming pools, tennis courts, gym and extensive well-maintained gardens. The apartments are all privately owned, so do vary in standard and there are reports that some are a little dated now, requiring a bit of an update.
A car would be useful if you want to explore, but to get to Carvoeiro, you can take a 30 minute stroll, a taxi (which are quite cheap) or use the free resort bus which runs a few times a day until the early evening.

Carvoeiro Apartments – Colina da LapaThis resort is often advertised as being in Carvoeiro, but is actually in the Sesmarias area and is nearer to Ferragudo than Carvoeiro. It is also not close to the sea and is a 10-minute drive from Carvoeiro. Having a car here is advisable, although the resort does lay on a courtesy coach a few times a day to Carvoeiro and the beach.
The resort itself is well laid out and is spacious and the accommodation is also spacious and clean. It’s not the place to go if you want lively nightlife, but if you are up for a relaxing holiday, then this is the place for you. The resort has the usual facilities, such a pools and tennis and a pretty good restaurant. There is also a small supermarket for basics although the Intermarche supermarket (much larger) is only a few minutes drive away. Pestana golf resort (Gramacho and Vale da Pinta courses) is close by.
