Camping Albufeira is one of the better and larger campsites in the Algarve. The Albufeira campsite is well designed. On the hill at the centre of the site is the hub of the site in Portuguese style buildings. Here you’ll find the swimming pools.

The site is open all year round and even in the winter it can be quite busy, and many of the facilities remain open throughout the year. The site is also home to a number of long term residents. Reports on the site are generally positive, commenting on the good facilities and friendly staff.

There are 1000 touring pitches in a 19 hectare area. Tents and caravans are allowed, and there are special facilities for Motorhomes. The pitches on the site are on reasonably flat ground although there is some terracing. There are some trees around so there is some shade from the summer sun, depending where your pitch is. Footpaths and roads are lit, and the site guarded at night. Quiet during the day and at night.

Camping Albufeira has a Supermarket, which is quite convenient. It has a reasonable selection on offer, but you’re better off going to one of the bigger ones off site for a better selection and cheaper prices.

The site boasts a half-decent restaurant overlooking the pools (not quite an ocean view, but better than nothing) with an a la carte menu and serving international cuisine. It is open all year round. There’s also a self-service restaurant and a Pizzeria, although they are only open from July until the middle of September. In addition, there is a snack bar and a number of bars. If you fancy cooking for yourself then barbecues are allowed.

The site arranges excursions during the week throughout the year and entertainment is laid on a couple of times each week during the high season. For younger campers there’s a games room, discotheque, television and video games.

If you’re feeling fit, then you are in walking distance of Albufeira. It’s about 2km and rather hilly, but if you’re up for it, it’s an enjoyable stroll. If you don’t fancy the walk back, you could get a taxi or a bus. All the buses to Ferreiras pass by the entrance to the campsite.

For trips further afield, you are only 5km from the IP1 motorway, which travels the length of the Algarve, giving you the opportunity to visit many of the towns and attractions that the Algarve has to offer.

A discount is available for CCI carnet holders and other card holders, just ask at reception on arrival when you registerl. CCI carnet is also accepted as identification, allowing you to keep your passport There is also a discount available through the winter months. Credit cards are accepted.

Directions to Camping Albufeira

From Albufeira, it is situated about 2km north of Albufeira off the EN396 on the way to Ferreiras just past near Alpouvar with the entrance on the right.

From the IP1 motorway take the exit signposted for Ferreiras and follow Albufeira signs. From Ferreiras drive towards Albufeira on the EN396 and after about 3 km you’ll find the camp site entrance on the left had side of the road.
