Benamor Golf Club

Benamor golf club was the first golf course to open in the Eastern Algarve, in March 2000. It is only a few kilometres to the East of Tavira.

It was designed the late Sir Henry Cotton and is a delightful 6,100 yard (5,500m) par 71 golf course. You will receive a warm welcome.

Benamor is not a long course, by modern standards, and a premium is placed on accuracy rather than length. It is undulating rather than hilly, so is quite and easy course to walk, with only a few steepish slopes to contend with. There are some fantastic views of the Barracol hills to the north of the course and the Atlantic Ocean to the South.

The course is as well maintained (with awards to prove it), as any course in the Algarve and it is suitable for players of all standards. So a great Algarve golf holiday course to play.

If you want to play, then you will have to show a valid handicap certificate, and the maximum handicap for men is 28, and for ladies, 36. Also, soft spikes only allowed.

Benamor Golf Course Green Fees (2006/7) is € 75.
