Barringtons, Vale do LoboBefore it expanded to its size today, with its own Spa facilities, there has always been Barringtons Vale do Lobo. It is a sports, leisure and spa complex in the middle of the Vale do Lobo resort and really is its own little holiday complex offering holiday accommodation also.
Many people come here to relax and unwind, enjoy the facilities available at Barringtons, Portugal weather, and the many other sporting facilities and restaurants available within Vale do Lobo.
Barringtons has a health club and spa, golf academy, squash courts, outdoor swimming pool, putting green and a few café/bars. I suppose you could spend your entire holiday without leaving the complex. Accommodation at Barringtons - Vale do LoboThere are various options open to you when it comes to accommodation at Barringtons. There are rooms available within the building itself, all with terraces, or adjacent there are villas of various sizes up to 3 bedrooms. In addition there are also 1 to 3 bedroom apartments on site, all with fully equipped kitchens.
Staying in any of the accommodation entitles you to and includes club membership, so that you can use all the facilities the club has to offer. Additionally, it also gets you discounts in the bars and restaurants, on local golf courses, spa therapy, car hire and personal trainers.
If you are likely to be a regular visitor throughout they year, then there are a variety of membership options available to you.
Eating and DrinkingThere are a number of bars, which serve lunch and snacks throughout the day. Next to the outdoor pool there is Splash Bar and inside there is the Beat Bar, which has Sky Sports and the Eagles Café Bar which is also open for breakfast. If you are staying within the complex then there is a take-away menu and delivery service available.
Barringtons Algarve Golf Academy
The academy has driving range with 30 floodlit bays, 16 of which are covered. It’s not particularly long and big hitters can probably hit balls over the high fence at the end onto the training pitches. Slicers have been known to hit an occasional ball into the swimming pool. The range also has bunkers and greens to practice those tricky little short shots.
When you’ve finished whacking balls, you can practice your putting on the18-hole putting green (with a tricky change in elevation), or have a go in the practice bunker or chipping green.
Having realised you’ll get no better without help, you can book a lesson (group or individual) with the resident professionals or perhaps join up with one of the golf programmes, which provide half-day instruction over a few days. This is also available for juniors (5 years and above) for a couple of hours a day, with the focus on fun to introduce the various aspects of the game.
Barringtons Health and Beauty SpaIn the spa you'll find an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and solarium. There is also a beauty salon, where treatments are available (for both men and women). You can also book a Spa Package tailored to suit your requirements.
Health Club at Barringtons Vale do LoboThe health club has a modern and well-equipped gym with running machines, cycles etc and a selection of weight training equipment. It is suitable for all levels, so no need to be self-conscious. If you want one-to-one personal training then this can be arranged.
As well as the ‘do-it-yourself’ fitness equipment, the club lays on a vast array of classes in the studio, from yoga and Pilates to aerobics and dance classes, all run by professional instructors. There’s even classes for the kids.
For those of you with excess energy to burn off, there are also squash courts.
Barringtons Sports training groundsBarringtons also has training grounds and facilities for football, rugby, bowling, cricket and golf and teams come here to train at various times of the year.
Directions to Barringtons Vale do LoboVale do Lobo is only about a 25-minute drive from Faro airport. Driving from the airport head towards Portimão and join the EN125. After about 4 kilometres take the Almancil exit and then after a further 3 kilometres turn right towards Almancil. When you reach the traffic lights, turn left. Vale do Lobo is signposted from here. On entering Vale do Lobo resort, turn left at the third roundabout and you’ll find the entrance to Barringtons at the bottom of the hill on the left.
