Algoz is about 8 km inland from the resort of ADP, set in the Algarve countryside and is just under 14 km from the historic castled town of Silves. From Faro airport is about a 40-minute drive to get here and it is also quite well served by train and bus services.Originally Algoz was just a farming community, but now is perhaps more famous for its ceramics and pottery. This relaxed village has a number of shops and some good yet inexpensive restaurants and a number of bars. There is a daily market, and each month one of the largest markets around with a large selection of things to buy. Worth a visit is the cart museum as well as a couple of churches. The Church of Our Lady of Pilar, at the top of the hill will reward you with some beautiful countryside views. The Manueline style main church is also worth a visit. For a little retail therapy, why not visit, Algarve Shopping, a huge shopping centre with ten-pin bowling, cinema, cafes and restaurants, which is only a few kilometres away.

Quinta das Palmierinhas is beautiful detached country villa just a couple of kilometres from the laid-back village of Algoz. It is located in large attractive gardens and is the perfect retreat for a relaxing holiday. The grounds include lovely lawn and flower gardens, olive and fruit trees as well as a duck pond and small aviary (both of these are fenced for your comfort and safety). An inviting private roman style swimming pool (11.4m x 5m) and sun terrace with built in barbecue can also be found. Inside the villa is spacious, well furnished and has five bedrooms. A separate annexe houses a further bedroom and lounge area making this an ideal choice for larger parties. The historical centre of Silves or the beaches of Albufeira can also be found within a twenty minute drive. The nearest supermarket is just under 2 km away.Car hire is essential if you are staying here.
