Some are fairly near the strip, but are generally in quieter residential areas. The Strip is the area to the east of Albufeira Old Town from Montechoro down to the Praia d’Oura beach is known as the Strip. It is basically a road filled with bars, restaurants, and shops, attracts a young crowd and is very brash a noisy at night, full of neon lights and bars with music blaring out. Villa rentals in and around Albufeira town Balaia Balaia is about 5 km east of Albufeira. Very pretty, it is a peaceful and traditional village; a place to relax. If you want more holiday style facilities, then try Balaia Golf Village which is nearby, with its swimming pools, tennis courts and 9-hole golf course. There are a couple of good beaches within a short walk, particularly, the quiet Praia da Maria. Balaia villas to rent Castelo Castelo is a pretty little village 4 km west of Albufeira, so about a 10-minute drive. It is near Praia Castelo beach, a beach cove with beautiful rock formations. Zoomarine is just a few minutes drive away. Guia is famed for its Chicken Piri-Piri.
