Where are the best Albufeira Golf Courses?Albufeira Golf
Albufeira maybe the Algarve’s most popular holiday destination, but there are perhaps better places to base yourself if you’ve planned your Algarve holiday around playing golf. Having said that, Albufeira has a lot to offer in terms of facilities, beaches and accommodation. So if you have hired a car, or are staying at a hotel that has a courtesy bus to get you to and from the golf courses, it may suit you down to the ground. Within the immediate vicinity of Albufeira there is only one 18-hole golf course, the links style Salgados golf course which is situated a few kilometres to the west of the resort behind the Praia de Galé beach. To the east of Albufeira are two nine-hole courses, Balaia golf course, which is part of Balaia Golf Village and the Pine Cliffs Golf Course, a little further east and forming part of the Pine Cliffs resort. Both are good courses for a casual game, but are still only 9-holers. If you want more serious Albufeira golf courses, then you’ll have to travel a little further west or east. All these courses are within an easy driving distance. To the west, near Carvoeiro there are two golf courses forming the Pestana Golf resort. These are the Gramacho Golf Course and the Vale da Pinta golf course. These are good courses. Between Armacao de Pera and Carvoeiro is a 9-hole, par-3 course, the Vale de Milho golf course. Of course there are other courses that are within driving distance for a days golf. Albufeira Golf AccommodationIf you want to base yourself in Albufeira, there is plenty of accommodation to choose from. You can arrange everything yourself, from hotels to tee-times, and you can (and should) get better rates on green fees than the advertised ones (either through your hotel or an internet based tee-time agency).
